3/21/2013 | Tulsa Sports Commission announces return of USA Volleyball to Tulsa
The Tulsa Sports Commission announced today that it will once again welcome USA Volleyball, the governing body for U.S. Olympic volleyball teams, to Tulsa. Tulsa has been chosen as one of three sites for the 2013 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World League matches. Other cities are Wichita, KS and Reno, NV.
The FIVB World League is an elite men’s volleyball competition in which the best teams in the world compete in pool play over seven weeks trying to qualify for the final round and a first-place prize of $1 million.

11/1/2012 | Tulsa Sports Commission secures 2014 NCAA Division I women's golf championships finals
The NCAA announced today that Tulsa will host the 2014 Division I Golf Championships Finals to be held May 20 through 23, 2014. The Tulsa Sports Commission's bid for the event beat out 25 other host bid packages to secure the prestigious event that will be held at the Tulsa Country Club.
9/13/2012 | Jack Wing, TSC board member and avid supporter of Tulsa Run, dies
Jack Wing, a member of the Tulsa Sports Commission’s board of advisors, died Tuesday. Wing served on the TSC board for more than a decade and served as local organizing committee chair for the AC Milan Heartland Cup, in addition to numerous other LOC and committee positions.

The US Elite Challenge in Tulsa March 30 through April 1 will be the first step for gymnasts on the road to the 2012 Olympic Games in London according to USA Gymnastics representative Ron Jacobson at a Tulsa Sports Commission press conference yesterday.
2/1/2012 | Tulsa Sports Commission to manage Tulsa Run
The Tulsa Sports Commission recently announced it will now manage the Tulsa Run. Ray Hoyt, senior vice president of VisitTulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission will serve as race director.
“The Tulsa Sports Commission was incredibly honored when we were approached to steward this iconic race,” Hoyt said. “The Tulsa Run has a rich history spanning more than 30 years and, with TSC’s resources now committed to its development, will only continue to grow.
1/16/2012 | Tulsa Sports Commission announces Tulsa as host of 2012 U.S. Elite Challenge
More than 400 gymnasts are expected to head to Tulsa for trampoline and tumbling’s 2012 U.S. Elite Challenge competition March 30 through April 1. Held at the Tulsa Convention Center, the three-day event showcases the nation’s best in men’s and women’s trampoline, tumbling, synchronized trampoline and double mini-trampoline. The U.S. Elite Challenge is one of three events that are part of the selection process for the U.S. Olympic Team for trampoline.

At most places, Tony Stewart would be introduced as the three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.
Not in Tulsa.
Chili Bowl co-founder Emmett Hahn said at a Tulsa Sports Commission and Lucas Oil-sponsored press conference yesterday that the proper introduction in Tulsa is "two-time Chili Bowl champ."
11/10/2011 | Tulsa Sports Commission, B.A.S.S. announce 2013 Bassmaster Classic in Green Country
B.A.S.S., and the Tulsa Sports Commission announced today its selection of Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees and the Tulsa metro region as the site and host of the 2013 Bassmaster Classic, Feb. 22-24, 2013. It is the 43rd edition of sport fishing's greatest championship and the first to be hosted by the state of Oklahoma.
